This document is the same one referred to in Policy Work; it was written for the DBE to harmonise the various provincial policies on teaching GET Natural Science, and to help the follow-through to FET Life Sciences and Physical Sciences. The document, The Content Map for Natural Sciences, was accepted for use in all the provinces, though it was later overtaken by the CAPS.
We think that the Map still has value.
The Map is offered in three “layers” that show increasing detail. Layer One (here) is a graphical overview, Layer Two (here) sets out content by Grade, and Layer Three (here) gives guidance to curriculum writers, INSET instructors and teachers on sequencing, learning difficulties and helpful activities.
